Country Style Wedding Favors

If you are having a wedding in a barn or farmyard setting or you are fans of country and western music then chances are you will be theming your wedding accordingly. So when it comes to your wedding favors you will need to coordinate them to match.

Here are a few ideas for country style favors:

Horseshoes: although horseshoes are commonly associated with weddings as a token of good luck they also work with a country theme. You maybe able to get hold of real horseshoes from a manufacturer or check out your local craft store for wooden or even straw versions.

Decorate them with dried flowers and present them in a nice card box with your thank you tag. Don’t forget to tell your guests not to turn them upside or all the good luck will run out!

Other ideas for horseshoe favors include candies or chocolates, or have cookies made in a horseshoe shape. Look out for candles or soaps in this shape as well. Failing those you could use paper, card or fabric printed with horseshoes to make your packaging.

Cowboy favors: many favor stores offer novelty packaging for candy and chocolate favors which includes Cowboy Hats and boots. You can also find these in craft stores where they may be cheaper to purchase.

Again as an alternative have cookies made with a cowboy theme.

Condiments: give bottles of hot sauce as favors which your guests can add to their cowboy feasts! Jars of homemade preserves also work well for a country theme and look lovely when presented in jars with a personalized label.

Recipes: an easy favor which you could make yourself at home. Give your guests recipes for dishes like chilli, boston beans and cowboy hash. Try to make up several different recipes and give a different one to each guests, particularly couples who will then have two different recipes to try out when they get home.

Recipes are also a nice addition to the hot sauce favors mentioned above!

Edibles: Look out for novelty chocolates and candies in the shape of Cowboy Boots, cowboy hats, straw bales and horseshoes. Package them in natural colored favor boxes or in Hessian style bags.

Decorations: use straw colored raffia to tie on tags or traditional red and white gingham ribbon (other colors are available to coordinate with your wedding colors). Decorate boxes or bags with stickers or embellishments from craft stores such as horseshoes, cowboy hats and boots.
